Human Rights Policy

The Maruyasu Group conducts itself in a manner that respects the human rights of all people involved in its business activities based on its company creed of “WA (harmony)”. We have established the “Human Rights Policy” (“Policy”) as follows, and we will promote initiatives to respect human rights using this as a guideline.

01.Basic Approach to Human Rights

The Maruyasu Group supports and respects international norms on human rights, such as the International Bill of Human Rights and the International Labor Organization’s Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work.

We will comply with the laws and regulations of each country and region in which we operate. In cases where the domestic laws and regulations differ from the international principles and standards, we will seek ways to respect internationally recognized human rights principles and standards.

02.Scope of Application

This policy applies to all executive members and employees (including part-time employees, fixed-term employees, contractual workers, etc.) of the Maruyasu Group (Maruyasu Industries Co., Ltd., and its consolidated subsidiaries). Furthermore, we expect all our business partners, including suppliers, to understand and support the Policy.

03.Human Rights Due Diligence

The Maruyasu Group is making efforts to establish a human rights due diligence mechanism in accordance with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, and aims to identify, prevent, and mitigate any negative impact on human rights.

04.Correction Steps and Remedies

If the Maruyasu Group learns that our business activities have caused or aggravated a negative impact on human rights, we take corrective steps through appropriate means. Also, we provide a consultation service that is accessible by affected parties under such conditions.

05.Education and Enrooting

To ensure that all employees understand the Policy and that our business operations properly conform to its contents, the Maruyasu Group will provide all employees with appropriate human rights education and awareness-raising activities.

06.Dialogue with Stakeholders

The Maruyasu Group will engage in dialogue and consultation with relevant stakeholders on measures to address potential and actual impacts on human rights.

07.Monitoring and Information Disclosure

The Maruyasu Group will continue monitoring compliance with the Human Rights Policy and improving the situation as necessary.

08.Important Human Rights Items

  • ① Prohibition of Discrimination

    We do not tolerate any form of discrimination based on race, nationality, national origin, religion, creed, gender, sexual orientation and gender identity, age, disability, Family structure, or personal history.

  • ② Promoting Diversity and Inclusion

    We respect the diversity of our employees and will implement various measures to create an environment and promote the development of a workplace culture in which diverse human resources can play an active role.

  • ③ Prohibition of Harassment

    We do not tolerate any form of harassment including power harassment, sexual harassment, and acts that harm the dignity of individuals.

  • ④ Prohibition of Child Labor

    We do not tolerate the labor of children under the statutory minimum working age regulated by applicable laws and regulations of each country and region throughout our business activities and business relationships.

  • ⑤ Prohibition of Forced Labor

    We do not tolerate involuntary and forced labor, and human trafficking in all our business activities or relationships.

  • ⑥ Appropriate Management of Working Hours and Wages

    We appropriately manage working hours, holidays, vacations, and wages in accordance with laws and regulations of each country and region in which we operate.

  • ⑦ Providing a Safe and Healthy Working Environment

    In accordance with the applicable laws and regulations of each country and region in which we operate, we will provide a working environment where employees can continue to work safely and healthily.
